Just like many people, who found hidden talents or underlying skills during 2020 when the pandemic first emerged, I found myself jobless, poor, and bored. You can only clean the house so much and so often. I had just moved 600+ miles across the country to get married and start a new life; and was very used to having a lot to do and many places to go. Really takes a toll on your mental wellness when you go from being a totally independent individual to a partnership that you cannot contribute to, you know? From this, I decided it was time to find a new hobby. And now my hobbies have turned into passions. That is when Morrighan’s Emporium was formed. Morrighan is a name that is special to me, and Emporium because I want to sell a variety of items, and not be pigeon-holed into one category. I remembered that I used to make silly little jewelry when I was a kid; so, I decided to develop it further. I started making bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces with gemstones and beads. From there I wanted to try to make myself unique, as there are a lot of vendors out there who make and sell jewelry. So, I started to wood burn, creating keychains, and other decoration pieces. From there I added resin casting, metal stamping, crocheting, sewing, (among other things) and then eventually a Cricut joined the mix. I also like to repurpose a lot of items as recycling is unfortunately not a big thing in our community. So there you have it, the start of my Emporium. It’s grown from just a bunch of hobbies to a full-fledged business fueled by my passion to offer handcrafted products created with love and good intentions.
